Utah State Capitol

The Utah state capitol is one of the nicest government buildings I have ever been in. Its a building of repetition and symmetry, all shrouded in polished marble. It somehow feels both classical and modern at the same time.

This series of photos was taken on my first ever visit to the building, and highlights the details that I was struck by. I was mostly taken by the way light filled the volumes, pouring in from skylights. The marble itself was like none I had seen before, it contrasted nicely with the gold accents all over.
