1970 Dodge Challenger

The Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) creates this great display a in Washington DC wherein they place a classic car in a crystal box. The car is rotated out once a week while the display is active on the national mall. I think it invites the viewer to see these cars as more than just the sum of their parts. They are made up of decisions and careful thought that work so well one might never consider their design.

What sparked my interest in capturing these photographs was my deep appreciation for details. This staple American muscle car, with all its rawness, leaks, and distinct aromas, all showcased within a pristine glass enclosure. Each meticulous detail beautifully illuminated, inviting thoughtful contemplation. I hope the genuine excitement I felt while taking these photographs shines through their presentation.

In photo #2 - A fingerprint left behind by someone - Likely a conservator.

In photo #3 - Chips in the black pin stripe reveal cream white beneath.

In photo #4 - The dent left in the chrome above the headlight. A sure sign this car was enjoyed and ate its share of rocks.
